Biography:

Denji, also known as Chainsaw Man, is the protagonist of the manga and anime series Chainsaw Man. He first appears in the inaugural chapter of the manga, published in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, and subsequently in the first episode of the anime adaptation in October 2022.

Initially living in poverty and burdened with his deceased father's debt to the yakuza, Denji forms a contract with Pochita, a Chainsaw Devil, granting him the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. After being betrayed and killed by the yakuza, Pochita merges with Denji, reviving him as the Chainsaw Man hybrid.

Driven by simple desires and a longing for a normal life, Denji is recruited by Makima into Public Safety Devil Hunters, where he battles against powerful devils to protect humanity, whilst also pursuing his personal aspirations.
